We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions to try to
answer some of the most common questions we receive. If you have
any additional questions that you think we might be able to answer,
please feel free to send them along for our review. We'd love to
hear from you!
Q. I have a book I'd like to sell; can I see if any CCCS members
are interested?
A. Sure! As a member of the CCCS, you are encouraged to contact
other members through the society's mailing list, the Cussler mailing
list. Please note however, that we will discourage any unfair trading
practices between members. If you have an extensive list, we'd be
glad to post it in PDF format in our Members Only For Sale section.
Simply send in MS Word format to our editors for review at forsale@cusslersociety.com.
Q. How can I contribute an article to The Sea Dweller newsletter?
A. We recommend you develop a proposal for an article and submit
it via e-mail to articles@cusslersociety.com.
Upon review, we will be better able to tell you if it might fit
our publication.
Q. Can I buy additional copies of the NUMA NEWS and other promotional
items for friends who are not members of the CCCS?
A. Members can purchase some items for non-members, but any items
with limited (e.g. only 1 per member) will be strictly enforced.
Q. I'm starting a collection of Cussler first editions. Where
do I start and what should I pay?
A. First you might take a look at our list of Cussler
First Editions, located right here on our site. You also should
be aware that prices vary greatly according to the condition, the
market, and the seller. Posing this question to the CCCS membership
is recommended and will elicit varied responses. There is also a
price guide available in Collector's
Guide to Clive Cussler.
Q. Are hardcopies of the The Sea Dweller newsletter available
to members?
A. For a nominal fee, hardcopies
of The Sea Dweller are available to members.
Q. Where can I find out about Clive Cussler book signings and
appearances?
A. For the most current and up-to-date information about book signings
and appearances, you should visit www.penguinputnam.com
and www.numa.net. Of course our
members are informed quickly of these types of events through our
members-only mailing list.
Q. Can we exchange links on your Web site?
A. If you site is related to Cussler and is approved by our editorial
board, we would be glad to link to your site. Please feel free to
link to us as well!
Q. I can't log into the "Members Only" section. What
am I doing wrong?
A. The CCCS requires a username and password to access the Member's
Only section of our Web site. To access this area, click on the
Member's Only link on the CCCS site. After clicking on the link,
a pop-up window should appear prompting you to enter your assigned
username and password. If this pop-up does not appear, one of two
problems have probably occurred.
You should first check to make sure you are not running special
software that blocks pop-up windows. Although this software might
be great for blocking certain types of advertisements, it also blocks
your ability to log into the Member's Only section of our site.
You can remedy this problem by temporarily turning off this software.
We also suggest that when you login, you use the "remember
me" functionality so you will not be prompted in the future.
After you have logged into the Member's Only area, you can then
return to your pop-up blocking settings.
If you are not running pop-up blocking software, you may have JavaScript
disabled in your browser. Sometimes JavaScript is used to run special
programs on a Web site. The CCCS uses JavaScript extensively so
it must be activated in your browser in order for the site to work
properly.
To Turn on JavaScript
- In your Internet Explorer browser, select the Tools menu and
then click on Internet Options.
- Click on the Security tab (at the top of the dialog box).
- Click the Custom Level ... button.
- Scroll down to the option labeled Scripting of Java applets
and select the
- Enable-ON radio button.
- Click Ok.
- Click Ok again.
- Done.
