The Clive Cussler Collector's Society is proud to announce its annual Convention. This year’s event will be held in Scottsdale, Arizona, on October 6th, 7th and 8th 2006 (Columbus Day weekend).

The Grandmaster Fiction Writers Roundtable* - The Grandmaster Fiction Writers Roundtable is something that the CCCS is experimenting with for the 2006 convention.

Ideally, the roundtable will be an informal, critique, discussion group. Space at the convention location will be provided for this continuing event. All levels of writers interested in the adventure genre are welcome and a limited number of participates will be accepted.

Prior to the convention, participants will submit a chapter or short story (adventure-related genre) and will be given copies of each other’s work beforehand. The roundtable will begin with the moderator determining the time available for the critique and discussion process of each chapter/story. Each writer will be asked to give a very brief overview of his/her submitted
writing, its history and thought-process. Each piece of writing will be read and discussed, followed by other roundtable writers giving a non-judgmental critique. Comments and suggestions on how that particular piece of writing might be improved for future use and publication will also be provided. This process will continue until all works have been presented and discussed.

Non-participating observers may be present–as space permits–and (at the
discretion of the moderator) take part in critiques and discussions.

REQUENT QUESTIONS

What type of presentations we can expect?

Right now we’re looking at speakers who may or may not provide a slide show/Power Point presentation–that will depend on them. We'll have a meeting room for our group set up with classroom-style seating. The subject matter and presentation will be at the discretion of the speaker. However, in this setting Bruce and Wayne will address the group to convey information, introductions, acknowledge individuals and, hopefully, have several types of
contests, in which collectibles will be given away.


If I bring several books to be signed by Clive Cussler, would I have the opportunity to have them signed? Would there be an extra fee?

We will definitely limit the number of books for Clive to sign based on time and Clive’s wishes. In fact, he may elect not to sign any books at this event and we will abide by those wishes. However, arrangements are in place for Dirk Cussler, Paul Kemprecos and Jack Du Brul to be available to sign books and memorabilia Saturday evening. Regardless, the signing will be the same for everyone and no additional fee would be required.

The 2005 Denver Cussler Convention DVD

Available Now, only through the Clive Cussler Collectors Society.

Member Matt Ulm videotaped the entire 2005 Denver Cussler Convention for us and produced a 2-DVD video set. This DVD set blew me away when I saw it, I can't say enough about Matt's work. With over three hours of video, Matt did an awesome job capturing all the highlights of the event and a very professional job putting it all together.
